Return is provided by Lo Ho Hin. Your words and app-awareness settings stay on your iPhone in the App Store release.
Information stored on your device
Return stores your Echoes, saved ideas, delivery settings, and the timing and state needed to provide its features. Your optional preferred name stays in the host app for the welcome message. Return also stores opaque app selections supplied by Apple’s Family Controls. This information is stored locally by Return and in local storage shared only among Return’s own app extensions.
iCloud and earlier testing versions
The App Store release does not offer iCloud Sync. Some internal testing versions offered optional, off-by-default sync of Echoes and supported delivery preferences to the private CloudKit database for your Apple Account. Apple operates that service under its own terms and privacy practices.
Moving from a testing version to a version without sync stops Return’s synchronization; it does not delete previously saved cloud records or your local content. Turning sync off also does not delete existing cloud records. Return does not currently offer a separate “Delete Cloud Data” control. Your preferred name, saved ideas, app selections, permissions, membership and active app sessions are not included in that sync.
Information Return does not collect
Return does not require a Return account. Return does not include advertising or third-party analytics. Return does not operate a server that receives your Echoes, selected-app choices, or app-use data. Return’s diagnostics use status, counts, timestamps and local references; they are designed to exclude Echo text, raw app-selection tokens and exact protected-app names from diagnostic exports.
Apple system services
If you grant permission, Return uses Apple features such as Screen Time and Family Controls, Device Activity, notifications, and Live Activities. Apple controls those system services under Apple’s terms and privacy practices. Return receives only the access Apple makes available through those system APIs. Echoes supplied to notifications and Live Activities may be visible on your Lock Screen; the Home preview may also appear in the app switcher. iOS controls those displays and delivery timing.
Membership and payments
Apple processes membership payments. Return uses StoreKit to verify membership and stores the experience start, entitlement status and expiry needed to apply it. Return does not receive your payment-card or bank-account details through this flow. No paid subscription starts automatically when you begin Return’s initial 72-hour experience.
Support correspondence
If you email return.app.support@gmail.com, you choose what information to send. Google processes that email under its Privacy Policy. Return does not sell information you send for support. Please do not include private Echo text or other sensitive information unless it is necessary for support. Lo Ho Hin handles support correspondence for troubleshooting and replying to you. Closed correspondence is deleted within 90 days, unless retention is legally required. You may request earlier deletion by emailing from the original address.
This website
This static site is hosted by GitHub Pages. When you visit it, GitHub may process technical information such as your IP address, browser information, and request logs under the GitHub General Privacy Statement. Return does not add analytics, cookies, forms, or tracking scripts to this site.
Deleting information
You can read saved Echoes and ideas after the initial experience or membership ends. Creating, editing and deleting them in the app requires the active initial experience or membership. To delete an Echo, open its three-dot menu and confirm Delete; manage saved ideas from the Home card’s pencil control. An already-created session or delivered notification may retain its own snapshot until that session or system item is cleared. Turning iCloud Sync off stops future syncing but does not currently provide a separate “Delete Cloud Data” action. Removing Return asks iOS to remove its installed app data, but may not remove records already stored in your private CloudKit database. Apple controls deletion timing and any copies in device or cloud backups.
Changes to this policy
If Return’s data practices change, this page will be updated before the revised practice is represented here. The effective date above identifies the current version.
